Every four years or so, my Mustang requires a new battery.  But only after three years I went through a Sear's DieHard.  After my car dying at my Parent's house, my Parents insisted that they would just replaced it.  How can you honestly argue with your parents?  If you think you can, you haven't meant my Mom.

I borrowed my Dad's F150 to return to work.  My Dad had a neighborhood friend help him install the new Costco battery in my car.  He ran the normal test at 2500 RPM, and the voltage was above 12V.  He told my Dad that the alternator looked good and was on his way.

I returned that night to pick up my car with a new battery.  I still couldn't believe that my battery went bad so soon.  But, I thanked them and went on my way.

Leaving my car sit in the driveway over the weekend, it wouldn't start on Monday morning.  Dang.  I thought I must have a short in the car.

So, I charged the battery and reinstalled it in the car.  I let it set over night and it started right up.  After five minutes into my drive the Battery idiot light came on.  I knew I was in trouble.  I was able to make it home.

I removed my alternator and took it to Kragen for a test.  It was dead as a door nail.

So, I purchased another 95 amp alternator fro PA Performance.  I need a little bigger alternator than stock to ensure my fuel pump has enough volts to keep the fuel pressure up while driving at night with my moderate stereo.
